Despite sharing a language and a very similar fee structure with eBay Germany, eBay Austria works differently in two important ways. First, Austria has not adopted Germany's free-selling policy for private sellers: private sellers (Privatverkäufer) still pay a real commission, a fixed order fee, and a regulatory fee on every sale. Second, Austria charges business sellers a 0.35% regulatory operating fee that Germany does not have at all. Everything else, category commission structure, Shop tiers, and performance-based adjustments, follows a very similar shape to Germany, just with Austria's own numbers.

The commission is calculated on the total amount of the sale (item price, postage, and any applicable tax). Most categories charge their listed rate on the first €990 of the sale, then 2% on the remainder. NFTs are a flat 5% with no threshold.

Several categories (Tech Devices, Auto Electronics, Tyres, Garden & DIY, and others) drop to a lower threshold (€200–€400 instead of €990) when the seller has an eBay Shop subscription. For simplicity, this calculator always uses the €990 no-Shop threshold, the same approach already used for eBay Germany.

A Basis-, Top-, or Premium-Shop increases your monthly free-listing allowance, it does not lower your final value fee percentage. eBay states plainly that transaction fees are the same with or without one of these three Shop tiers. Austria has no separate Platin-Shop product of its own: AT-based sellers subscribe to Platin-Shop through eBay.de, and the benefits (including the 10% fee discount below) are then confirmed to apply to their eBay.at sales too, under an official joint German/Austrian policy.

Platin-Shop + Top Rated: business sellers who subscribe to Platin-Shop (via eBay.de) and hold Top Rated (Top-Bewertung) or Above Standard status get a 10% discount on the variable portion of the commission. The discount never applies to the fixed per-order fee, and it does not apply on its own without a Platin-Shop subscription: there is no standalone Top Rated discount in Austria today.
Unterdurchschnittlich (Below Standard): sellers rated below eBay's minimum performance standards pay an extra 6 percentage points of commission on the total sale amount, effective since 1 April 2024, until their account improves to Above Standard or better. This calculator applies the 6-point surcharge to whichever category rate applies to the sale.

No. Unlike eBay Germany, which made domestic private selling free in March 2023, eBay Austria has not adopted a free-selling policy. Private sellers pay an 11% commission on the first €1,990 of a sale (then 2% above), a fixed order fee, and a 0.42% regulatory fee, on every sale.
It is the "Gebühr für gesetzliche Betriebskosten", introduced across several European sites in April 2024 to cover rising regulatory compliance costs. Notably, this is a fee eBay Germany does not charge at all, while Austria does: business sellers pay 0.35% (excluding VAT); private sellers pay the equivalent 0.42% figure, which already includes Austrian VAT.
For private sellers, it is €0.05 for orders under €10.00 and €0.35 for orders of €10.00 or more. For business sellers, it is €0.35 for orders of €10.00 or less and €0.45 for orders over €10.00. This calculator applies the correct split automatically based on seller type.
Basis-Shop, Top-Shop, and Premium-Shop do not change your final value fee percentage; they mainly increase your free-listing allowance.
