eBay made a major change to UK seller fees: since 1 October 2024, it is free for UK-based private sellers to sell on eBay.co.uk. Business sellers pay a different, category-based fee structure. Here is the complete picture.

Since April 2024, eBay UK charges business sellers a regulatory operating fee of 0.35%, calculated on the total amount of the sale (item price, postage, and any applicable tax). eBay introduced this fee to help cover the cost of complying with online marketplace regulation. UK-resident private sellers do not pay this fee at all, as part of the same free-selling policy that removed their final value fees.
Non-UK-resident private sellers listing on ebay.co.uk pay a regulatory operating fee of 0.42% instead. This calculator only models UK-resident sellers, so the non-UK-resident rate is not included.

Unlike eBay US, an eBay UK Shop subscription does not reduce the final value fee percentage. Its main benefit is a larger monthly allowance of free listings. This is exactly why Shop subscription level is not a field in this calculator: selecting one would not change your fee results.

Business sellers who hold Top Rated Seller status receive a 10% discount on the variable (percentage) portion of the final value fee. This discount does not apply to the fixed per-order fee or the regulatory operating fee, and it has no effect for private sellers, who already pay 0% FVF.

Selling to buyers outside the UK adds an international fee on top of the standard FVF, calculated on the total sale amount. Private sellers pay a flat 3%, which this calculator applies when you select a buyer's location outside the UK. Business sellers are shown a tiered table on eBay's own business fees page, but the figures conflicted with other eBay pages at the time of research, so this calculator does not apply a business-seller international fee — selecting an international buyer location will correctly show £0 for this fee on a business-seller sale, rather than an unverified number.

The further escalation to +7pp after 4+ consecutive Below Standard months is not modeled, since this is a point-in-time calculator with no seller history tracked. Below Standard applicability to private sellers is unconfirmed and not modeled.
