Unlike Germany, the UK, France, or Italy, eBay Ireland has not adopted a free-selling policy for private sellers. Private sellers still pay a real commission, a fixed order fee, and a regulatory fee on every sale, the same model used on eBay Austria, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, and Switzerland. Business sellers pay a category-based commission plus their own fixed fee and regulatory fee schedule. As of this research date, eBay has made no official statement about extending the fee-free private-seller model to Ireland.

The commission is calculated on the total amount of the sale (item price, postage, and any applicable tax). Most categories charge their listed rate on the first €990 of the sale, then 2% on the remainder, though a few categories use a lower €200–€400 threshold instead, and NFTs are charged a flat rate with no threshold at all.

Note the Electronics row above: eBay groups Computers/Tablets & Networking, Cameras & Photography, Sound & Vision, and Mobile Phones & Communication together at the same 6.5% rate with the same €300 threshold, unlike some other eBay markets which split Household Appliances out at a higher 11% rate. Categories not explicitly listed on eBay's fee page (Fashion, Collectibles, Books/Media, Sporting Goods, Toys, Health & Beauty) fall back to the 11%/€990/2% default in this calculator; this default has not been independently confirmed for each of those specific categories, so treat it as a reasonable estimate rather than a cited rate.

An eBay Shop subscription increases your monthly free-listing allowance and lowers your per-extra-listing fee, but it does not lower your final value fee on eBay.ie. eBay states plainly: "Transaction fees and fees for optional upgrades are the same as for sellers without an eBay Shop." This is why Shop level is not a field in this calculator.

No Top Rated discount: official eBay Ireland fee pages document no separate final value fee discount for Top Rated status. The only place Top Rated is mentioned on the business fee page is as an exemption from the Below Standard surcharge: "Above Standard and eBay Top-rated Sellers are not impacted by this additional fee." Top Rated status carries other benefits (a badge, better search placement), but no fee reduction on ebay.ie, which is why Top Rated is not offered as a Seller Level option in this calculator.
Below Standard: sellers rated below eBay's minimum performance level pay an extra 6 percentage points of commission on the following month's sales, calculated on the item price, postage, taxes, and any other applicable fees. eBay's own example: a commission of 11% plus the per-order fee becomes 17% plus the per-order fee. After 4 or more consecutive months rated Below Standard, this rises to 7 extra points, which this calculator does not model. The evaluation looks at cases closed without seller resolution, transaction defect rate, and late delivery/shipment rate, assessed monthly.
