Like Austria, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Poland, eBay Switzerland has not adopted a free-selling policy for private sellers. Private sellers still pay a real commission, a fixed order fee, and a regulatory fee on every sale. Business sellers pay a category-based commission plus their own fixed fee and regulatory fee schedule. All figures below are eBay's own native Swiss franc (CHF) amounts, not conversions from euros, and Switzerland is not an EU member, so its VAT (MWST) rate and rules differ from the EU markets covered elsewhere.

The commission is calculated on the total amount of the sale (item price, postage, and any applicable tax). Most categories charge their listed rate on the first CHF 990 of the sale, then 2% on the remainder, though several electronics-related categories use a lower CHF 200–300 threshold instead.

Note the two highlighted rows above: Household Appliances and general Electronics Devices sit under the same page heading on eBay's own Swiss fee schedule, but they are charged at genuinely different rates, 11% versus 6.5%, both sharing the same CHF 300 threshold. This calculator treats them as separate categories so the difference isn't lost.
A fixed per-order fee of CHF 0.55 (orders of CHF 10 or less) or CHF 0.65 (orders over CHF 10) applies on top of the percentage shown, for every category. This split replaced a flat CHF 0.55 fee on 12 February 2026. Rates shown are excluding VAT (MWST); eBay adds VAT separately.

A Basis-Shop, Top-Shop, or Premium-Shop subscription increases your monthly free-listing allowance and lowers your per-extra-listing fee, but it does not lower your final value fee on eBay.ch. eBay states plainly that transaction fees are the same for sellers with or without one of these three Shop tiers.

A special case worth calling out: Swiss-resident sellers can separately subscribe to a German Platin-Shop through eBay.de and receive a 10% discount on their commission, but that discount only applies to sales made on eBay.de, not to sales on ebay.ch itself. This calculator models eBay.ch sales, so this cross-border discount is not included and is not a reason to expect a discount here.

No Top Rated discount: eBay Switzerland explicitly discontinued its 10% Top Rated final value fee discount effective 1 April 2022 (announced under the heading "Wegfall des Rabatts für Verkäuferinnen und Verkäufer mit Top-Bewertung"). Top Rated status today only matters as an exemption from the Below Standard penalty below, which is why Top Rated is not offered as a Seller Level option in this calculator.
Below Standard: sellers rated below eBay's minimum performance level pay an extra 6 percentage points of commission on the following month's sales, on the total sale amount. eBay's own example: a commission of 11% plus the per-order fee becomes 17% plus the per-order fee. After 4 or more consecutive months rated Below Standard, this rises to 7 extra points, which this calculator does not model. This surcharge is documented only on eBay's business-seller fee page; it is not mentioned on the private-seller page.

For Swiss business sellers, the published rate stays at that 0.35% net figure. For Swiss private sellers, the rate shown is VAT-inclusive: 0.35% + 0.03% (Swiss VAT at 8.1%) = 0.38%, per eBay's own worked example. This is a smaller VAT add-on than the ~20–23% EU VAT rates used in other markets, precisely because Switzerland's VAT rate itself is much lower.
