eBay Canada does not distinguish between private and business sellers: every seller pays the same fee schedule, which instead depends on whether you have an eBay Store. Store subscribers (Basic, Premium, or Anchor, all identical for fee purposes) get a genuinely lower final value fee rate and a lower threshold before the marginal rate kicks in, compared to No-Store sellers.

The fee is calculated on the total amount of the sale (item price, shipping, and any applicable sales tax). Several categories charge a different rate and threshold than the "most categories" default, and the numbers change again depending on whether you have a Store.

Every Store tier shares the exact same discounted final value fee table shown above. Upgrading from Basic to Premium or Anchor changes your monthly cost, your zero-insertion-fee listing allowance, and your support level, but it does not lower your final value fee any further.
| Store Tier | Monthly Price (CAD) | Zero-Fee Fixed-Price Listings/Mo | FVF Rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| No Store | $0 | 250 | Higher (No-Store table) |
| Basic | $19.95–$24.95 | 1,000 | Same Store table as Premium/Anchor |
| Premium | $59.95–$74.95 | 10,000 | Same Store table as Basic/Anchor |
| Anchor | $299.95–$349.95 | 25,000 | Same Store table as Basic/Premium |
eBay Canada offers only three Store tiers (Basic, Premium, Anchor), unlike eBay.com's five-tier lineup; there is no Starter or Enterprise tier on ebay.ca.

The final value fee, fixed fee, and Store subscription rates published by eBay Canada are all exclusive of tax. eBay separately charges Canadian sales tax on its own seller fees, based on where the seller is registered: 5% GST alone in Alberta and the territories, 13–15% HST in Ontario and the Atlantic provinces, GST plus provincial PST in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, or GST plus QST in Quebec. This is separate from the sales tax eBay collects from buyers on the sale itself.
This calculator shows the base fee before this tax. For most GST/HST-registered sellers, tax charged on eBay's fees is a recoverable input tax credit rather than a real cost, which is why it is not added to the results above, consistent with how VAT is handled in every European marketplace this calculator supports.

No. Unlike the UK, Germany, France, and Italy, eBay Canada does not offer a free-selling policy for private sellers. Everyone pays the same fee schedule regardless of account type; the only thing that changes your rate is whether you have an eBay Store.
On most categories, a Basic Store drops your rate from 13.6% to 12.7% and lowers the threshold for the cheaper marginal rate from $7,500 to $2,500, which mainly matters on lower-value sales. Premium and Anchor cost more per month and add extra listing allowances, but charge the exact same final value fee as Basic.
Yes. eBay charges GST, and HST/PST/QST where applicable, on top of its own seller fees, based on your registered province. Published rates on eBay's fee pages, and the results in this calculator, are before this tax.
It is $0.30 for orders of $10.00 or less, and $0.40 for orders over $10.00, whether or not you have a Store. The only exception is Athletic Shoes sold at $150 or more, which has no fixed fee at all.
Yes, by 10% on the variable portion of the final value fee, for sellers who meet eBay's Top Rated Seller performance requirements. It never discounts the fixed per-order fee.
If your account is rated Below Standard on the 20th of a month, your final value fee on the following month's sales increases by 6 percentage points. This rises to 7 points after 4 or more consecutive months, though this calculator only models the initial 6-point surcharge.
Categories like Electronics, Auto Parts, and Tires only get a special reduced rate on eBay's Store-subscriber fee table. Without a Store, those categories simply fall back to the standard "most categories" rate. This calculator applies that distinction automatically based on your Store selection.
Yes. Shipping to the US (0.4%) or any other country outside Canada (1%) adds an international fee on top of the standard final value fee. Select the buyer's location in the calculator to apply it, waived only if you enroll the listing in eBay International Shipping, which is not modeled here.
Yes. The final value fee is calculated on the total amount of the sale, which includes the item price, shipping charged to the buyer, and any sales tax collected on the sale, not just the item price alone.
GST/HST/PST/QST charged on top of eBay's own fees, the separate high-INAD-rate surcharge, Below Standard's +7 point escalation after 4+ months, and Motors (vehicles), which use an entirely separate fee structure.
