eBay Australia's fee structure changed significantly in 2026. Since around April 2026, it is free for Australia-based sellers with up to $25,000 in sales over the trailing 12 months to sell on eBay.com.au, meaning no final value fee at all. Sellers who exceed that threshold are automatically moved onto an eBay Pro subscription plan (Starter, Basic, Featured, or Anchor), where a category-based final value fee applies instead.
All fee percentages and fixed amounts eBay Australia publishes are quoted GST-inclusive, unless a seller has provided an ABN and registered for tax-exempt status with eBay, in which case GST is removed from the displayed amount rather than added on top.

An eBay Pro subscription increases your monthly cost but lowers your final value fee percentage across every category tier. The fixed per-order fee also depends on your plan.

The final value fee is calculated on the total amount of the sale (item price, postage, and any applicable tax). Each category tier charges its own rate on the first $4,000 of the sale, then a lower marginal rate on the portion above $4,000. For example, eBay's own worked example for a Pro Anchor seller in the Business & Industrial / Collectables / Fashion tier on a $5,200 sale is: $0.33 + 11.11% × $4,000 + 2.75% × $1,200 = $477.73.

For most sellers, yes. If you are based in Australia and your total eBay sales over the past 12 months are $25,000 or less, you pay 0% final value fee and no fixed per-order fee, on every category except Motors (Cars, Bikes, Boats) and the Services/Real Estate classified categories.
Your account is automatically transitioned to an eBay Pro Starter plan. From then on, a category-based final value fee plus a $0.30 fixed per-order fee apply to your sales, and you can voluntarily upgrade to Pro Basic, Featured, or Anchor for a lower percentage rate at a higher monthly cost.
Only the first $4,000 of the sale is charged at your category tier's standard rate. Everything above $4,000 is charged at a lower marginal rate instead (2.5% on Pro Starter, 2.75% on Pro Basic, Featured, and Anchor). This calculator applies that split automatically.
Yes. Unlike some other eBay marketplaces, an eBay Australia Pro plan directly changes your final value fee percentage in every category tier. Pro Anchor has the lowest rates, followed by Featured, then Basic, then Starter.

Yes. Sellers evaluated Below Standard pay an additional 5.5% (incl. GST) on the total sale amount, in every category, on top of their normal fees. This calculator applies that surcharge when you select the Below Standard seller level. The further escalation to 6.6% after 4+ consecutive Below Standard months is not modeled, since this is a point-in-time calculator with no seller history tracked.
The Below Standard escalation to 6.6% after 4+ consecutive months, and Motors, Services, and Real Estate categories, which use entirely separate fee structures with no confirmed per-sale percentage.
