Since 1 March 2023, selling on ebay.de within Germany has been free for private sellers (Privatverkäufer): no final value fee (Verkaufsprovision) and no fixed order fee. This policy is still in effect today. Business sellers (Gewerbliche Verkäufer) pay a category-based commission plus a fixed per-order fee.

The commission is calculated on the total amount of the sale (item price plus postage plus any applicable tax). Most categories charge their listed rate on the first €990 of the sale, then a lower 3% marginal rate on the portion above €990. A few categories charge a single flat rate with no threshold at all.

Fixed per-order fee of €0.35 (orders under €10.00) or €0.45 (orders €10.00 and above) applies on top of the percentage shown, for every category. Rates shown are net of VAT for business sellers with a registered VAT ID. Watches & Jewellery's threshold can drop to €500 with certain Shop subscriptions; this calculator always uses the €990 no-Shop threshold for simplicity.

An eBay Shop (Basis, Top, or Premium) mainly increases your monthly free-listing allowance, it does not lower your final value fee percentage. The one exception is Platin-Shop, which grants a real 10% discount on the variable commission, but only when the seller also holds Top Rated Seller (Verkäufer mit Top-Bewertung) status. Platin-Shop sellers meeting that condition can earn a further quarterly rebate based on year-over-year sales growth, which this calculator does not model since it depends on historical sales data.

Yes, for domestic sales within Germany. Since 1 March 2023, private sellers (Privatverkäufer) pay no final value fee and no fixed order fee on ebay.de, for every category except Motors (vehicles, boats, aircraft). You may still pay for optional listing upgrades, Promoted Listings, or an international fee if you ship outside Germany.
Business sellers pay €0.35 per order when the total sale amount is under €10.00, and €0.45 when it is €10.00 or more. This calculator applies that split automatically based on your item price and shipping.

No. Based on eBay's own Top Rated Seller program page, the badge itself only affects search visibility and buyer trust. The 10% fee discount is only available together with a Platin-Shop subscription, not to Top Rated sellers on a lower or no Shop tier.
No. If you have registered as a commercial seller and provided eBay with a VAT identification number, fees are calculated net, excluding VAT. Sellers without a valid VAT ID have German VAT added to their eBay fees instead, which this calculator does not model.
No. Shipping outside Germany adds an international fee (5% for private sellers, or a tiered rate by destination region for business sellers), but this calculator does not currently include it, since some of the exact business-seller regional figures could not be independently confirmed at the time of writing.
Yes. Business sellers rated Below Standard pay an additional 6 percentage points on top of their normal category commission, in every category. This calculator applies that surcharge when you select the Below Standard seller level. The further +1pp escalation after 4+ consecutive Below Standard months is not modeled, since this is a point-in-time calculator with no seller history tracked.
International/cross-border fees (the business-seller regional figures could not be independently confirmed), the Below Standard escalation to +7pp after 4+ consecutive months, the Platin-Shop quarterly growth rebate, and Motors (vehicles, boats, aircraft) listings, which use an entirely separate fee structure.
